About this book:- The Sedona Method is a framework that you can use to release unwanted positive or negative emotions that are getting in the way of the things that you want do / the goals you want to achieve in life. For example, if you're suffering from anxiety, fear of failure, procrastination, sadness, depression, apathy - you can apply the sedona method to dig down to the core of all these issues and "release" on them. Studies have been done on the effectiveness of the Sedona method - in one instance a group of insurance sales men were given the method and over six months they outperformed the control group by 33%. The releasing process is actually very simple. In fact, it's so simple that when you read about it you'll probably be very sceptical that it actually works. That's actually a pretty normal reaction to this framework, but to really get the most out of the method, you'll need to show some faith that the method works and give it a fair shot. I personally use this method for procrastination. Procrastination is something I continually experience - I often find myself experiencing resistance against certain tasks that I need to do in order to push my business forward. For this I've found the Sedona method to be really effective. Here's how I would apply the Sedona method in this case:- Whenever you have a feeling of resistance, you say. Can you I just allow myself to feel this? Without running away from it. Let it well up inside of you. Acknowledge it and feel it. Now, you should ask yourself:- "Could I let this feeling go?". Answer "Yes" or "No". Next question:- "Would you let it go?" Next question:- "When would you let it go if you could?" You have to cycle through it 3 or 4 times. This is an extremely effective method for dissipating procrastination. If you do many iterations then it will help you get rid of the negative feelings. Other important topics that the author touches upon in the book:- Our tendency to identify with the problems that we face. Sometimes we like to hold onto our problems because they become part of us and we don't like the unknown of what life would be life if we resolved the problem. Wanting to ask why? We always seem to want to ask why when actually we don't always need to and can just apply a bit of solution oriented therapy to solve the issues that we're having. Being proud of our problems - sometimes we feel like soldier and are proud to be fighting a problem that we face, so we hold onto it. What will I talk about - Sometimes we even hold onto problems because we like the attention, the drama and to talk about it.
