Baloo Baleerie: An Irish Lullaby

Hi, everyone! I thought everyone could use a lullaby this week. This one is said to date as far back as the 11th century! We recorded it on our second album, “Died For Love,” which can be found on iTunes, Amazon, etc... and here: https://www.mobile.soundset.com/album... These lyrics are in English, but you might be wondering what a “peerie fairie” is! According to folklore, evil spirits (aka peerie fairies) could come and take the soul of a newborn child in the middle of the night. This song is a plea for peerie fairies to “gang awa’,” or “go away,” and for “bonnie angels” to come down and stay in “oor ben noo,” which was an inner room - like a nursery! “Baloo baleerie” is nonsensical, and makes for nice, comforting sounds to sing for a lullaby. :-) I wish Laudon was with me to play... I have been learning guitar for about three weeks, so bear with me ;-) And please excuse the HVAC noises... we are on the road this week in Central Missouri and I found a quiet spot to record... just couldn’t turn off the AC!
