We will talk about what it is, which communities qualify for this program and the eligibility requirements. So what is the Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot program? The Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot is a five-year community-driven program that started in 2019. Its goal is to distribute the economic benefits of immigration to smaller communities by establishing a path to permanent residence for qualified foreign workers who desire to work and reside in one of the participating communities. The Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot permit eligible employers to make full-time permanent job offers to skilled foreign workers who can help fill identified labor shortages in the community. There are 11 participating communities, five in Ontario, two in Manitoba, one in Saskatchewan, one in Alberta, and two in British Columbia.
