Let us start the experiment Collect the ice cubes from the watch glass to the beaker Consider Ice to be the first form of water And ice is the solid state of water Bring down the thermometer and measure the temperature of the ice cubes Place the thermometer for two minutes to know the exact result Here we are using laboratory thermometer which consists alcohol in its tube. I think you are familiar with the different type of liquids used in the thermometer? Generally alcohol and mercury are the two liquids uses in thermometer Do you know in a clinical thermometer what is the liquid used? Yes, it is mercury Now bring down the glass rod and stir the ice cubes in the beaker to melt them faster Leave it for some time How much time is taken to turn ice to water also depends upon temperature inthe atmosphere Why because thereis a transfer of heat betweenthe ice cubes & the atmosphere Now we clearly observe water is being formed in the place of the ice cubes Water is the second form of water And water is the liquidform of water Bring down thermometer and measure the temperature of water in the beaker Place the thermometer for two minutes to know the exact result Remember that the thermometer should not touch the walls or the bottom of the beaker Switch on the regulator of Bunsen burner Light the Bunsen burner with lighter Pick up the beaker and place it on the tripod stand We can observe some gas rising & it is called as water vapour Water vapour is the third form of water And water vapour is the gaseous state of forms of water Bring down thermometer and measure the temperature of water in the beaker
