In the rare cases where data simply can’t be uploaded to the cloud via traditional methods, the last resort is physically mailing the data to Microsoft, where it is uploaded to the cloud and returned to you. Chuck begins by explaining why Azure export/import jobs are not only useful, they’re often absolutely necessary. The most common reasons for using them include having a substantial amount of data (more than is feasible to upload) or an internet connection that is slow or sporadic. Those are the perfect use cases for this tool. Simply put, export/import jobs transition from the virtual to the physical, and your data is stored on physical hard drives.
