Here’s the re-release trailer of “Metropolis” (1927) – the silent science fiction masterwork by Fritz Lang, director of “Dr. Mabuse”. Metropolis is a futuristic city where society is divided into two groups – the wealthy residents who live a carefree life in their extraordinary skyscrapers and the slave-like workers who live underground and run the steam-powered machines that keep the utopian world above ground functioning. The original film print has been digitally restored with an additional 25 minutes of newly found footage.
