Interested in joining our Editorial Board? We're looking for 20 new members from around the world. Applications are open until 10 September 2021. Find out more: https://thesociologicalreview.org/ann... Dr Cath Lambert (Monographs Editor, The Sociological Review) talks to two current Editorial Board members, Dr Alexis Truong and Dr Kirsteen Paton, about their role at the journal. They talk about the process of reviewing, discuss what we expect from board members, and detail their own experiences of this role at The Sociological Review. This session will be of particular interest to those who are considering applying to join The Sociological Review’s Editorial Board. We will be appointing 20 new Editorial Board members to join our team from November 2021. We are looking for people who are enthusiastic about our aims and ethos, and we welcome applicants working outside higher education, people at all career stages, and those based outside the UK. We actively encourage scholars from the Global South, people of colour, LGBTQI+ and people with disabilities to apply. Editorial Board members’ duties include: refereeing papers and attending Editorial Board meetings; participating in our events and public engagement initiatives; reviewing proposals for our monographs and seminar series; playing a role in our mission to support early career researchers; encouraging submissions by colleagues and peers; and planning for the future of The Sociological Review. We are especially keen to hear from those whose expertise lies beyond the UK and Northern Europe. As the composition of our current Editorial Board attests, we are looking for applicants who may have specialist expertise in fields such as social and cultural theory; social anthropology; science and technology studies; urban sociology; crime and deviance; sociology of work; sociological and anthropological approaches to health and medicine; and critical data science. We also welcome applicants who are enthusiastic about communicating sociological research through public engagement. The closing date for applications is 10 September 2021. Applicants will be informed of the Editorial Team’s decision by 22 October 2021.
