How to Install a Smart Door Lock - Shlage Encode

In this video, home renovation brothers Dave and Rich and Dave's son, Caleb show you how to install a smart door lock - the Shlage Encode. This door lock is really cool because you can input up to 100 different access codes into it. You can also change the code using an app on your phone. In addition, the app will let you know when the door is being locked or unlocked, and it keeps a history of those events. To install this lock you will just need a Phillips screwdriver, a flathead screwdriver, or a drill. Remove the old deadbolt by unscrewing the retaining screws on the back of the door and on the side of the door. Install the new backplate, align the front plate with that. There are wires that you have to feed through and connect before you can attach the front plate. Put the cover on and install the 4 double A batteries that come with the unit. The program code and the user code are on the back of the unit. Download the app and input the codes to set up the smart door lock. You can change the access code after it is set up. Hope this helps!
