Profit off the 2021 Housing Crash by using these TWO strategies! Home Prices in America have reached all-time highs in 2021 according to the Case Shiller Home Price Index. Both regular home buyers, as well as investors, are becoming priced out of the Housing Market. Many of these potential buyers and investors now believe the US Market is in a massive Housing Bubble. That a big Housing Crash is around the corner. Fortunately - there are some options for those thinking there's a Crash to potentially profit off it. One strategy to consider is to purchase put options on Zillow, which is essentially a bet that Zillow's stock price will decline. Zillow's two main revenue sources - it's Zillow Offers Program (home buying and selling, aka FLIPPING) and IMT (lead generation for realtors) - could both suffer immensely if a Housing Crash hits America. Declining home prices would lead to large losses in home flipping, while many realtors would also likely drop of the market, hurting IMT revenue. However, Zillow is still a tech company at heart, especially with a P/E Ratio of 158. In a low interest rate environment tech stocks can often defy the odds, and continue appreciating even if the fundamentals don't match the price. For this reason those wanting to bet against the Housing Market might want to consider a different company to purchase a put option on. An additional option would be Invitation Homes, who is the largest owner of single-family homes in America with over 80,000 in their portfolio. Invitation Homes was spun off from Blackstone in 2017 and rents these homes out. If home prices across America decline, investors could view Invitation Home's assets to be less valuable, causing the stock price to decline. Of course - the Housing Crash actually needs to happen for these strategies to make sense. I believe that there will be a US Housing Crash and that many of the arguments presented by Housing Market Bulls do not stand up to scrutiny.
