Zvonimir Boban | Zorro | The Best Skills & Goals

He made his debut for Dinamo Zagreb in 1985. He was a member of the Yugoslavian youth team that won the 1987 World Youth Championship, and then at the age of 18 became the youngest captain in the history of Dinamo Zagreb Boban became a Croatian national hero after an episode on May 13, 1990, when a match in Zagreb between local Dinamo and Belgrade's Crvena Zvezda turned into a massacre between fans. After the police intervened in the clashes, Boban also intervened in the brawl and punched a policeman who hit one of the Dinamo fans. The story came into the public spotlight, agitated by the recent victory of supporters of Yugoslavia's transformation into a confederation in Croatian elections, and is considered one of the episodes in the development of the intra-Yugoslav crisis that led to the civil war. Boban was disqualified by the Yugoslav Football Federation for 6 months and was unable to participate in the final tournament of the 1990 World Cup. In the summer of 1991, he accepted an offer from AC Milan, the sum of the payoff amounted to 8 million euros. At that time, Italian teams were allowed to declare only three foreigners, so the club decided not to risk and give Boban the opportunity to adapt in a new championship for him, playing for Bari. At the end of Serie A 1991/92 “Bari” took 15th place and left the top division, but the quality of the game Boban convinced the management of Milan to allow him to start the next season in the red and black shirt. Since then, he played for Milan for nine consecutive seasons, going from a substitute to one of the key players of the team. In August 2001, he was again loaned out, this time to Celta in the Spanish Primera. However, experiencing difficulties in getting into the starting lineup of the new club, Boban decided to end his professional career in October of the same year, shortly after his 33rd birthday. From 1988 to 1990, he played 7 matches and scored 1 goal for the adult Yugoslavian national team. After the collapse of Yugoslavia he played 51 matches for the Croatian national team, including at the European and World Championships. He scored 12 goals. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Like, Share & Subscribe!    / @legendary_football37
