SURVIVOR (日本版） 2nd series (filmed in Hokkaido) / 2002 If you thought Russell Hantz had bad jury management, behold the story of cutthroat queen Sakiko Sekiguchi of Japanese Survivor. Going into the merge with a tribe of only 3 women, Saki strategically got into a showmance, cut him after he had voted off his entire tribe for her, then sat in the final tribal council and told each jury member that they pretty much sucked at life, only to lose the final vote unanimously. Airing in 2002 shortly after the first season of Japanese Survivor in which it was a simple Pagonging, Saki and her strongest ally Tatsumi were the pioneers of strategy in Japanese Survivor, and their style of play was much different than that of the American Survivor seasons that had aired up until that point. Japanese Survivor only lasted 4 seasons, but Saki and Tatsumi will always be remembered as the most cutthroat and cunning players to come out of season 2. 20年ほど続いてきたアメリカ版の40シリーズの中で、陪審員扱いが一番ひどいのは確かにラッセル・ハンツに違いないが、日本版2ndシリーズの戦略的な関口咲子についてご存知でしょうか。合流時、女性3人しか生き残っていないワッカチームの関口がトイトイチームの男性陣の岩本を狙い、戦略的に近づいた。恋に落ちてしまった岩本（クマさん）が関口を守るために自分のチームを一人ずつ落としていったのに、ベスト５の投票時に関口は情に流されずにクマさんを裏切り、最後の追放審議会で陪審員の弱点を一人ずつ話した結果、陪審員のメンバーに嫌われてしまい、最強のサバイバーを決定する投票を満票でコンビニ河村に負けてしまった。合流後、人数の多いチームが簡単に人数の少ないチームを一人ずつ落としていった１stシリーズの直後、2ndシリーズは2002年に放送され、関口、そして同じワッカチームの辰巳が、サバイバーというゲームの戦略を知らない時代でも、他のサバイバー達より効果的に戦略を使い、最後まで生き残ることができた。日本版サバイバーは2年間しか続いていなかったが、関口と辰巳は2ndシリーズの中で一番賢く、狡猾な戦略として永遠に伝えられていく。
