ABOUT GUSTAVO SANTAOLALLA: Gustavo Santaolalla, an award-winning Argentine musician, began his career with the band Arco Iris and later formed Wet Picnic in Los Angeles. He founded Surco Records, contributing significantly to Rock en Español with artists like Cafe Tacvba. Santaolalla's solo albums include "Santaolalla," "GAS," "Ronroco," "Camino," "Qhapaq Nan," and "Raconto." His accolades include 19 Latin Grammys, two Grammys, two Oscars for "Brokeback Mountain" and "Babel," and a Golden Globe for "A Love That Will Never Grow Old." Santaolalla's film scores include "Amores Perros," "21 Grams," "Biutiful," "The Motorcycle Diaries," "The Book of Life," and "Wild Tales," for which he received a Platino Award. His television work features "Jane the Virgin," "Making a Murderer," and "Narcos: Mexico." He ventured into video game music with "The Last of Us" series and composed for the Netflix documentary "Los Tigres del Norte at Folsom Prison" and the series "Rompan Todo." Santaolalla's tango project "Cafe de los Maestros" showcases the genre's golden age. He collaborated with Eric Clapton on "Life In 12 Bars" and performed at the Crossroads Guitar Festival. His music is part of a permanent exhibit at Cape Canaveral, and he toured with La SantaBanda. Santaolalla remains a vital force in music, with sound and identity as his work's cornerstones.
