Secretly, Cobain & Grohl called former Nirvana's bassist: Krist Novoselic, this last one immediately agreed with the idea the two old rockstars had in mind. During the first months of 2017, the three main members of Nirvana would start to jam together for the first time since 1994, numerous leaks of these jam sessions were uploaded to YouTube & Twitter, hyping up the people about a possible Nirvana 4th album after years. Dave Grohl finally announced on Twitter that he is taking a quick break from Foo Fighters to work on a "personal project", it was pretty obvious what he was talking about. A new album started to be recorded in 2017 under the production of Steve Albini, all this in complete secret, Pat Smear was a late join to this recordings, only being able to participate in a few songs as rhythm guitarrist. Finally on January 10th, 2018, Kurt announced officially a new Nirvana album "we missed to do this, this past year was a funny one. Yes, Krist, Dave & I were working on something that might interest you."
