But there's something interesting to be said for this game's core mechanics - they're basically a mix of core features from other Paradox games, in a way other PDX games are not. Staples from CK2/CK3, EU4 and Victoria 2 come together in Imperator to create an ancient world like never before, and one I love deepening further with mods. It goes without saying that it's a shame Imperator didn't ship in its 2.0 state, but I love that Paradox stuck with it long enough to bring us what it currently is. And I'll love Imperator Rome for exactly the reasons stated in this video and more, until a sequel releases sometime in the next 30 years. Let's hope it's less than that.
