Pinhead by The Ramones, Live

'Pinhead' in the Ramones anthem of punk-rock community, their testament to their bond with their audience. "Gabba gabba, we accept, we accept you, one of us." It's a crowd participation piece: the Pinhead hands Joey the Gabba Gabba Hey sign, the audience holds up their own signs, everyone jumps up and down with each other. We're all Pinheads together. I made this video because none of the live clips on YT show this unity with the audience, the community of punk. Either the just show the band, or are shot in big arenas where the crowd i distant and separated from the guys. This, then, is the performance of 'Pinhead' from Rock and Roll High School, "enhanced" to remove the narrative elements of the movie. A) I replaced the film audio (which dips the song at points to mix in character action) with the clean track from the soundtrack album. B) I edited out the shots of the characters, and replaced them with shots of the Ramones and the crowd. The concert footage for Rock and Roll High School was shot at a specially staged live performance in front of a 'real' audience. The shots of the characters in the crowd and backstage were shot separtely and edited in to the concert footage. So despite the fact this is from a fiction film, it's the closest thing will ever get to a version of 'Pinhead' that shows the Ramone genuine interaction with the crowd at a small venue.
