The Israeli military confirmed that it intercepted a missile fired from Yemen yesterday (May 15). Iran-backed Houthis have claimed to have targeted the Tel Aviv airport with a "hypersonic ballistic missile". Earlier this month, a Houthi missile struck an area near the main terminal of Ben Gurion Airport in a rare penetration of Israel's air defences. The missile had gouged a hole near the airport's main terminal building and injured several people. The Houthis have been repeatedly attacking Israel and international shipping lanes in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden since the start of the Gaza war.
