►The G50 brought modernity to the aging G-series 911 3.2 Carrera in 1987. The Getrag box featured an all-new design with more precise shifting and a revised clutch assembly. As such, the G50 clutch and flywheel replacement process differs quite a bit from the earlier 911 models. At this age, 3.2 Carreras are just as likely to need a clutch due to age-related wear as they are from actual use, but if you did have a recent replacement, know you can pull almost 100,000 out of it if you need to. Replacing the clutch and flywheel assembly can be done with the engine in the car, but the 3.2s have some common oil leak spots at the back of the engine, so you may as well drop the engine and transmission together. Having them out gives you much better access to the driveline and any repairs or servicing you're doing. Luckily, 911s aren't anything too radical to work on, and anyone who has replaced a clutch should manage just fine on this older vehicle. In this video, Mike Hidalgo, FCP Euro's Professional DIYer, replaces the clutch and flywheel assembly on a vintage air-cooled Porsche 911 3.2 Carrera. 00:00 - Intro 01:32 - Tools Needed 02:26 - Job Start/Transmission Removal 05:54 - Clutch/Flywheel Removal 07:57 - Rear Main Seal Replacement 10:18 - Flywheel/Clutch Installation 19:35 - Transmission Install Prep 22:20 - Transmission Installation 27:10 - Wrap-Up Buy This Kit Here: https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/pors... 911 911 Gearbox: Manual, For vehicles that have had the transmission clutch fork shaft holes bored out per Porsche TSB Group 3 Number 8902 1987 Porsche 911 Carrera Convertible 3.2L H6 VIN:B Manual Transmission Clutch and Flywheel Kit 1987 Porsche 911 Carrera Coupe 3.2L H6 VIN:B Manual Transmission Clutch and Flywheel Kit 1987 Porsche 911 Carrera Targa 3.2L H6 VIN:B Manual Transmission Clutch and Flywheel Kit 1988 Porsche 911 Carrera Coupe 3.2L H6 VIN:B Manual Transmission Clutch and Flywheel Kit 1988 Porsche 911 Carrera Convertible 3.2L H6 VIN:B Manual Transmission Clutch and Flywheel Kit 1988 Porsche 911 Carrera Targa 3.2L H6 VIN:B Manual Transmission Clutch and Flywheel Kit 1989 Porsche 911 Carrera Convertible 3.2L H6 VIN:B Manual Transmission Clutch and Flywheel Kit 1989 Porsche 911 Carrera Coupe 3.2L H6 VIN:B Manual Transmission Clutch and Flywheel Kit 1989 Porsche 911 Carrera Targa 3.2L H6 VIN:B Manual Transmission Clutch and Flywheel Kit 1989 Porsche 911 Speedster Convertible 3.2L H6 VIN:B Manual Transmission Clutch and Flywheel Kit SUBSCRIBE: https://www.youtube.com/fcpeuro?sub_c...
