Full longplay, except for the last boss' phase 2 and the ending cinematic, unfortunately my mental didn't make it that far. So yeah, full game longplay of New Legends, an early 2002 OG Xbox exclusive, released in NA and EU, developed by Infinite Machine. A third person action game, based in China but in some alternative reality, with demons, futuristic weapons and these sort of things. Played on an OG Xbox in 480p progressive display mode, recorded at 1440p60 H.265 NVENC codec via OBS. Game runs at an unlocked framerate, meaning 20-50~ is the usual FPS reading you would get, judging from what I've seen. Not a successful game, it seems the devs went out of business after this one's failure, pretty sad actual, their first and only game. The reviews were definitely not good, averaging 56/100 on Metacritic, meaning a completely mediocre game, playable but not good. And I'd agree with it, it is not bad, not good, story is pretty simple and predictable, but the locations are pretty interesting. China is not often shown in games (I think). The game is pretty much a slasher, with just some platforming elements, with boss fights and all that jazz. But just doesn't seem to be any good at any particular element, a pure mediocrity. :D You know, out of all the OG Xbox exclusives, this one seemed to be better than the reviews stated, as opposed to many other exclusives I've played. Pretty bad/mediocre graphics also, and framerate is apparently wonky. Xbox REALLY does have many of extremely shitty ones. :D I'd rate it 6/10, but seriously fuck the last boss fight. Challenge is a challenge, but not when the game seems to be bug-cheating by doubling the enemy's attacks for no reason, and locking me into place with no obstacles on my way, definitely not a good combat mechanic! The game take place entirely in the country of China. The player controls Sun Soo, a young fighter who is fighting to free China and his kingdom, Soo Kingdom, from the villainous armies of Xao Gon. Throughout the game, players will use both melee weapons and firearms in a third–person perspective, while defeating enemies. Soo may hold up to two weapons at once, one in each hand, and can control both separately using the console's "X" and "B" buttons.
