Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre (RVH) celebrated another major milestone as we opened two new high-tech operating rooms (ORs) bringing the total number of ORs from eight to 10 and introducing the latest in surgical technology to the region. These new "Smart" operating rooms are designed for the most minimally invasive surgery. They will be the only ones of their kind in Simcoe Muskoka and further enhance our commitment to drive clinical excellence. In addition to the two new ORs, a third existing operating room was also converted to a "Smart OR". These revolutionary operating suites are fully-integrated, high-definition, voice-controlled and feature touch-screen technology. They are best described as operating rooms of the future.
