As a sequel to Kitwana's Toys #56, this episode looks again at one of the rarest action figures of Disney's beloved The Lion King franchise. In addition to a boxed set, I have finally been able to find both Adult Simba and Scar from Hasbro's "Fight to the Finish" set as loose figures, giving me the opportunity to take a more detailed look at these toys! Released just ahead of the direct-to-video Lion King 1 1/2, these figures take on a stellar moment of the original The Lion King animated classic: The final fight between Adult Simba and his evil uncle Scar, ultimately deciding who would follow Mufasa as the rightful King of the Pridelands. Each of these measure 4.75" tall and feature detailed, movie like faces, with Simba being clearly recognizable as such and Scar featuring the scar across his left eye. All have their claws out and paw pads are present underneath their front legs. While the front legs and tails are molded separately, the only real articulation is in their bodies. Thanks to a spring-loaded mechanism, this allows to have them to fight by swiping their paws at each other. But the best thing is of course, that they're shaped like anthropomorphic characters on two legs! This episode of Kitwana's Toys recorded November 3, 2022.
