Gut of Goetia - (Gehenna + Layer)

A track inspired by the Gehenna chapter of The Binding Of Isaac Repentance. Thanks Mudeth and Ridiculon for their osts, and Edmund McMillen for the game. Notes from me: My attempt was to make something akin to my mausoleum track while taking more of a grave vibe with it. While mausoleum sounds truly like an insane party, this one sounds more like a vile celebration, at least it is what i tried. To put emphasis on the rusty and bloody vibe of the level, I used distortion on some of the sounds of the track, go give this grating, imperfect sensation. The whole track is pretty rich when it comes to sound, melodies being a little less varied in that case, but this also brings forth its own issues. The layer was not easy to make. Doing a traditional layer with intensified drums was impossible because it would saturate the sound way too much, giving no space for additional melodies and instruments to shine. And parts that had lots of instruments were not easy to improve upon. But with the use of higher pitched instruments, I was able to use a sonority that managed to pull itself out of the sea of sounds which happens at the choruses.
