Today a different video as usual, but this came one had to be done, i broke this opel kadett c already back in March, but we were to busy with the fruit to do this kind of workshop jobs. i have been looking up against this job, as it's quite new to me to do this. Want to find out if i managed to get it done? watch the video :) The car is a 1979 Opel Kadett C with a 1.2S engine. This is a small engine, but it also is a light car. we got this car since i was 18 years old. Over the years it took alot of patchwork to keep it road legal, but here we are. The engine is having overheating problems already since i have it, however it got along until last year, and i did have this engine already sitting waiting for that moment for 8 years. So it was about time to retire the old engine. i do not restore the whole car at this point, as it will have to sit outside, the value of the car is low, and i don't have the time for that at this moment, but future will tell. The old engine gave a loud knocking when turning the revolutions up, and eventually the engine seizes when warming up until it cooled down again. this sounds like broken crankshatf bearings which cause the crankshaft to wobble. swapping the engine seemed the best solution as the cilinder sides of the 3th cilinder took a beating in the past aswell.
