Apple Breeding Update, Blossoms! and Red Fleshed Seedlings

A look at this what's going on in my apple breeding project. The seedlings are mostly up now. The crosses with Maypole, an intensely red fleshed apple with red pigment throughout the tree, are showing a lot of red pigmentation in the stems and leaves. Most are ready to plant out, but a few stragglers are still just sprouting. Between 9 and 12 of my seedlings are blooming. I keep counting and re-counting and getting different numbers! Whatever the case, all of those blooming now are crosses with a red fleshed apple called grenadine. It is an intensely colored apple with fruit punch and berry flavors. One of the seedlings shows a lot of pink in the blossoms. Hopefully it will have red flesh. Blood apples are one of my main apple breeding interests.
