Independents in the US are hoping to pick up extra votes as Americans express their concerns about the two leading candidates of the 2024 election. Robert F Kennedy Jr’s candidacy has become one of the biggest wild cards in this year’s presidential race. He has generated attention and criticism from both major parties with Donald Trump claiming Kennedy could spoil the race. The former president said a vote of Mr Kennedy would be a “wasted protest vote” that could swing either way. The latest Quinnipiac poll finds among voters, RFK Jr would earn about 16 per cent support compared to 37 per cent for both Trump and Biden.
