For some serious training and a little fun, Gershon & Abie Veroba travel to Honesdale, Pennsylvania, where former IDF soldier and counter-terrorism expert, Yonatan Stern, runs the Cherev Gidon Military Training Academy, where people come to learn Israeli-style weapons training.  Gershon & Yonatan discuss whether it’s necessary for more of us, even the most peace-loving Jews to familiarize themselves with the proper use and disciplines of serious deadly weapons, in light of today’s terrorist threats and attacks. The Verobas trained on actual firearms, including an automatic M-4 rifle, Block & SIG Sauer 9mm pistols, A-3 Sniper rifle and a 12-gauge Remington Tactical shotgun. CG has at least a dozen others, teaching in a strictly-supervised and safe environment on a remote mountaintop. Gershon & his son have gone there twice to perfect their training and Abie is also signed up for the upcoming 6-day Israeli Combat Retreat, Shomer Shabbat, glatt kosher, davening, including helmets and all other tactical gear.
