450 infiltrators stopped, 47 middlemen arrested for helping Rohingya infiltration in Assam

Talking about the NIA’s operation on illegal infiltration of Rohingya refugees in Assam, Special DGP Harmeet Singh said that as many as 47 touts or middlemen have been arrested belonging to different parts of the country. He further said that teams of Assam Police have deployed on the ground in Assam, Tripura, and Northern India. “A group of Rohingyas were traveling in a train from Tripura and had entered Assam. On the basis of that investigations and operations were done… 450 infiltrators were stopped and turned back with the help of the border guarding forces… The NIA took up the case and began the investigation. An operation was carried out by the NIA jointly with Assam Police in the wee hours.
