When do the bluegill come back to shallow water? Early spring fishing can be frustrating. The water is warming up, but there aren't many fish. I three different spot today before I find my first bluegill. But after I do, I catch a bunch more in that same spot. I am fishing with a simple fishing rig consisting of a float and worm. I am fishing in 3 feet of water or less because it warms up before the deep water does. This attracts fish and they come looking for food. When do the bluegill come to shallow water?
