According to YouTube analytics, most viewers on my Shoestring Shipyard channel only watch a few minutes of my videos (this is true – even of the much longer, full length feature videos). Therefore, I am starting to post videos that are much shorter (greatly abbreviated and sped up) to fit the average time frames that most viewers spend watching my videos (around 3 to 5 minutes or so). In addition, I’m adopting the “Jimmy Diresta style” of video by excluding all or most commentary. Note: The full-length feature version of this video complete with commentary appears on Vimeo and is presently free of charge for an (as yet) undetermined time. For those few interested in watching the longer video with commentary and explanations of what is going on, here is the Vimeo link: https://vimeo.com/606088054 This episode is Part 2 of a 2-part series about fabricating, fitting, and installing the breasthook in my 18’ pocket cruiser sailboat (S/V Ooh-Rah). In Part 1 of this series, I demonstrated how I made the template, milled & prepared the wood used for the breasthook, and cut out the basic shape of the breasthook. In this episode, I demonstrate how I determined the angles necessary to cut the bevels on the breasthook, set up the bandsaw to the proper cutting angles, and then the final fitting & installation of the breasthook. If you missed Part 1 of this series, here is the link to that video: • (S-2 Ep-29) 18' Sailboat Build - Breasthoo...
