Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) Suite for Drones at

In this episode, the Roswell Flight Test Crew speaks with Chris Hawley, a customer marketing director at Honeywell Corporation about the company’s new Integrated Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) system for drones. It incorporates a suite of technologies to allow drones to fly longer and further. First among these is the RDR-84K, a miniature radar array that has a range of three kilometers and can detect air and ground traffic, map obstacles and track weather changes. It also incorporates a water-cooled hydrogen fuel cell that provides three times the flight endurance of an equivalent battery-powered drone. To facilitate communication over long distances, it also includes a satellite communications (sat-com) system capable of live-streaming video to any location in the world.
