With some tactical approach, you can make Mortal Shell play like a nice hack-n-slash game, minimizing its "souls-like" attempts to manufacture unnecessary layers of artificial difficulty. I have created this guide to help beginner and intermediate players get a grip on the game's combat system, and enjoy the game more. I wanted to include as much as possible of the critical material on what to do, as well as what not to do, - so the guide started to get more complex than it should be. So, i stopped here, after making two of its parts. I am sure it will be helpful to some people. This game doesn't have to be some kind of a punishing grind "a la souls" . It's actually a pretty fun and reasonable hack-n-slash. And i'll show you how to play it as such. In case you are wondering if this is going to work in the new game+ mode - YES it will. The enemies in NG+ will be damage-spongy at first - but the systems will work, especially after you upgrade your weapon further. Enjoy!
