Can Only Native Speakers Teach English? Being a native speaker does not make someone a teacher. Are you qualified to teach me your native language? Probably not, and that's true for most people. Language schools, especially online schools, love to say that their teachers are native speakers and have college degrees, but that doesn't matter.
