Where Do All Earth's Heavy Elements Actually Come From? (feat. Dr. Ian O’Neill)

Our planet is literally riddled with #elements, they’re EVERYWHERE! || 👋 This video is on Nebula! Join and skip the ads while supporting creators (like me): https://nebula.tv/videos/trace-doming... But stars (like our sun), mainly burn hydrogen, and hydrogen is the most common element in the #universe, so where did all these other elements come from? I was #curious, so I made a call… Footage provided by Bigstock: http://bit.ly/bigstock-videofreetrial Thumbnail image courtesy: NASA ~~~ 👾 SOCIALS 👾 ~~~ Join my patreon to help grow the show (honestly, every bit helps) 📍::   / tracedominguez   Follow me on the tweet-machine & instagrammy: 📷::   / tracedominguez   🐤::   / tracedominguez   😐::   / official.tracedominguez   🎮:: twitch.tv/mrtraced ~~~ 🐱 LYNX 🐱 ~~~ Here’s a link to the newest paper where they’ve confirmed the neodymium in stars using computer models https://www.eurekalert.org/pub_releas... Here’s another link that talks about how elements are made all the way up to 26 Iron (after that we gotta get crazy!) https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases... === 😘 SPECIAL THANKS 😘 === Special thanks to Dr. Ian O’Neill, make sure you go follow him on the tweet machine, he’s a good follow, because he tweets about space, and then bunnies. Seriously.   / astroengine   ~~~~~ 🐣 EASTER EGGS FOR READERS 🐣 ~~~~~ P.S — Lead is super dense, right? But it’s spectra, the colors you make when you “burn” lead aren’t very bright. So astronomers and cosmologists had trouble finding lead out in the stars of our universe. Then one day, Belgian and French astronomers were looking at CH-stars, which all belong to binary systems. Binary means two stars, so they looked at them BOTH and found the main star expelled a bunch of material (including heavy elements) that deposited into the CH stars! They found the lead! https://www.eso.org/public/news/eso0129/ Love you, #nerdfam! Stay #curious!
