The Second Maroon War started in July 1795 by the maroons in Trelawny Town. Trelawny Town Maroons were upset by the shame that their own was flogged by a slave - those people who they had the authority to capture and return to the massa. They also felt some equality with the British so how dare the British command such action instead of having the maroons take care of the matter themselves! But none of the other maroon communities throughout Jamaica sided with the Trelawny Town Maroons. In fact, the Accompnng Maroons joined the British to fight against the Trelawny Town Maroons! The end result was that mass deportation of the Trelawny Town Maroon population took place which caused the end of the large population existence of this maroon community.
