An ‘el niño pheneomenon’ hit my country before the dry season. Now that the dry season came, the weather became hotter than usual. In some parts of my country they are experiencing 45 to 50 degrees celcius during the day. In our place, we’re still lucky for having 37 to 40 degrees celcius heat index during the day and 21 to 29 degrees celcius during the night. It is cooler than the other places in the Philippines. To beat the heat, I made halu-halo, a Filipino shaved ice dessert with sweetened fruits and other ingredients. This food is very memorable to me. I remember growing up, I beg for 10 pesos to my mother and go buy half-halo in our neighbor's house during the dry season.
