Portrait of Michel Marant Constant recreation Marant knew from a very young age that he wanted to be a painter and went on to study at l'Ecole nationale des arts décoratifs in Limoges. The artist is on a constant search, expressing himself, today, through his very personal and resolutely contemporary paintings. He continuously changes his technique as well as the themes he explores. Nonetheless, he is always inspired by the moment, nature and what is current. A painter of colours Marant pays very close attention to the colours he uses, switching between pencils to acrylic paint, to oil paint and collages. He works on canvas as well as on card and paper, creating a selection of colours depending on the theme. The artist uses colours to bring his work to life as well as to create patterns and depth. In a similar way to stained glass artwork, his compositions are outlined on the black or white background to create intensity. A recognised artist Marant’s work has been exhibited in France as well as in London, New York, Cologne, Rome and South Korea. This year, he will also be exhibiting his paintings at le Carrousel du Louvre in Paris.
