Doi Suthep | Exploring this crown jewel in Chiang Mai, Thailand

Apart from the pleasant weather, we didn't have great expectations from Chiang Mai. But as they say, magic happens when you don't have any expectations from anything. Chiang Mai is one such place for me. First, the city was less crowded giving my strained ears and nerves the much-needed respite from the nightlife of Phuket. Second, Chiang Mai was less expensive than Phuket Third, the weather was good, if not great. And fourth, it had Doi Suthep temple. Doi Suthep Temple, sitting as a crown on Chaing Mai's head, is a major tourist destination in Thailand. Located at the Doi Suthep mountain, this Buddhist Theravada temple attracts tourists from all over the world. Founded in 1386, this place breathes spirituality and history. And not to mention the architectural marvel which spreads everywhere inside the temple. Each corner of the temple has a story to share. It doesn't matter if you believe in spirituality or not, Doi Suthep will still trigger your brain to see and feel beyond what you perceive with your five senses. But before that, you need to climb 306 steps of the Naga Staircase to reach the temple. Are you already feeling dizzy? Then spend 100 THB, take the cable car and ride to the temple.
