It is no holds barred at the tables of the International Poker Tournament in Dublin. The richest international poker tournament ever staged outside the United States of America takes place at Dublin’s Killiney Castle Hotel, with thousands of pounds changing hands in private sessions. Thirty-three players from around the world are taking part including Stu ‘The Kid’ Unger, the 1980-1981 world champion who is on a winning streak again, Ken ‘What a Player’ Smith, Amarillo Slim Preston, Doyle ‘Texas Dolly’ Brunson and Puggy Pearson. Each player has £2000 and the last man in wins. Some of the players interviewed explain why they have chosen to devote their lives to poker. Stu ‘The Kid’ Unger plays for, The money, it’s how I make a living. A poker player from England says, I enjoy the game, it’s a very sociable game, I enjoy the company, it’s a thrill, it’s great action.
