Internalised misogyny is the prejudiced and discriminatory behaviour women project upon themselves and other women. Femininity is portrayed as something that is degrading, something that makes young girls want to disassociate themselves from the very essence of their being, and strive towards doing ‘manly’ things in order to make themselves accepted and tolerated. The problem with internalised misogyny is that it encourages further sexism and minimises the value of women.
