Procedural Stylized Vertex Coloring and Lamp Modeling | SideFX Houdini Breakdown

In this project, I created a stylized lamp generator that will be used inside Unreal Engine 5 for an upcoming project I'm working on. The main goal of this project was not only to create variations of the lamp directly inside Unreal Engine but also "texture" it. The "texturing", or vertex painting was done through Houdini and also by using the Attribute Color Adjust SOP node and AO node by Labs to calculate masks for AO, curvature, and dirt buildup. Then remap those attributes with Attribute Color Adjust SOP, change color, add additional noises, and stack them on top of each other like in Photoshop 🙂 This is my first experiment doing that. I'll revisit this process multiple times. This is such a powerful approach I truly believe in! By watching this, I think you can come up with a look of interesting usages 💪 Rendered inside Unreal Engine 5 with an anamorphic lens. The light bulb has an emissive material applied.
