Russia making 'significant tactical' gains in eastern Ukraine: General Jack Keane

Russian forces have made some significant tactical gains in locations along the eastern front in Ukraine, says former US Army vice chief of staff General Jack Keane. “Not only in the southeast and the Donbas region but most recently and somewhat alarmingly in the vicinity of Kharkiv,” Mr Keane told Sky News host Andrew Bolt. The moves highlighted Ukraine’s need for more ammunition and weapons from its allies. “We don’t think at the Institute for the Study of War that Russia has the capacity at least right now to seize Kharkiv and collapse the Ukrainian defences in that area,” Mr Kean said. “What we’re hoping for certainly is that the ammunitions to help Ukraine defend on the ground as well in the air will get there soonest.”
