It connects the cities of Tangier and Casablanca, significantly reducing travel time between these two major cities. The train can reach speeds of up to 320 km/h (200 mph) and covers the distance in about 2 hours and 10 minutes, compared to the previous travel time of nearly 5 hours. The service was inaugurated in November 2018 and has been a significant development in Morocco’s transportation infrastructure, boosting economic activity and tourism in the region.
