Pro-wrestling is still relatively new to Vietnam, and as the first league of its kind in the country, VPW faced an uphill battle building a fanbase for this kind of sports entertainment. Despite the difficulties, VPW's founder, Rocky Huynh and head trainer Sid Nguyen refused to give up, and finally raised enough money through a crowdfunding campaign to buy their first ring, and put on their first show in it.
