I was born in Mumbai (Bombay back then!) but my roots are in Goa. I've existed on the internet since my teens - I'm now in my late twenties. I started my journey with pottery / ceramics earlier this year & it felt life-changing, in some ways :) After I finished my beginner's course in March, I started to work from my 'home studio' in April & it was a source of sanity & comfort during lockdown too. Ceramics is a slow process but this collection (& video) has been four months in the making, thanks to the second wave. Nonetheless, it's quite satisfying to finally get my finished pieces. I would HIGHLY recommend starting with some kind of class at a local studio, because you need to understand basics under the guidance of an experienced potter most of the time. The teacher I learnt under, Priya Patil currently takes classed at her home studio in Vashi / Navi Mumbai. The studio I go to is IES Centre for Ceramic Design in Dadar https://magali.co/ceramicstudio They're very well equipped & do have classes & workshops, however I go there to use the firing facilities. I use the electric kiln but they have a gas kiln too!
