Created by Yufei Liu in 2023 Meng Po, the goddess who's in charge of memories and afterlife of the dead in the underworld, offered a spirit her infamous soup (Meng Po Tang) for reincarnation. The spirit refused and sneaked back to the human world to reunite with her loved one and complete her last wish before death. Meng Po Tang is a drama that narrates a love story between a human and a spirit. In Chinese mythology, there is a goddess in the underworld who sits by the Wang Chuan river with her infamous soup -- Meng Po Tang. Dead spirits who drank this soup can forget their past life memories and be ready for their reincarnation as they cross the river. A spirit refuses to drink Meng Po's soup and escapes the underworld to the human world. She reconnects with her old classmates and completes her wish by confessing her feelings to one of her old friends.
