Various of mourners carrying bodies STORYLINE: Israeli strikes overnight and early this morning killed at least 28 people across the Gaza Strip, according to the health ministry. More than 20 killed people arrived at Shifa Hospital, while the bodies of eight others were taken to Nasser Hospital in the south. Several strikes have hit the territory where the Israeli army keeps operating. The war has killed over 56,000 Palestinians, according to Gaza's Health Ministry, which does not say how many were civilians or combatants. It says more than half of the dead were women and children. During their Oct. 7, 2023, attack, Hamas-led militants killed some 1,200 people and took 251 hostages.
