It helps to have a greater drive in life. Something more than what you're doing. Something that underlines everything you do. When you're extremely passionate about one thing, that passion can help you achieve in other ways too. Finding that passion is about setting goals... knowing what you really want out of life. I've noticed this through Quake; when I have everything sorted and I'm pushing forward with something I really want in life, my playing will get to the next level. Conversely if I lose my drive then I start to play really badly too. And if I repeatedly get to that level of feeling inspired, it will become part of who I am... climate rather than weather, my nature rather than my mood. So as always, you have to train yourself through repetition to get to where you want to be. No doubt you've heard this before, but it's good advice: Never give up. Always forward. Good luck!
