To start, import an audio file into Audacity. Then, use the selection tool to choose a specific segment of the audio. To copy the selected part, simply press ctrl + c. Next, navigate to a different section of the audio and press ctrl + v to paste the copied segment. If you make a mistake, you can undo a command by pressing ctrl + z or redo a command by pressing ctrl + y. To duplicate a portion of the audio onto a new track, select the desired segment and press ctrl + d. If you want to remove any sound from a selected section, use the silence audio selection button. Alternatively, to eliminate all audio except for the selection, click on the trim audio button. For deleting a selection, you can either press ctrl + k or the delete key. To remove a selection and create an empty silent gap, use ctrl + alt + k. Cutting a selection and moving other clips backward can be done by pressing ctrl + x, or you can opt to cut the selection and leave an empty silence gap by using ctrl + alt + x. Remember, you can paste a cut segment by pressing ctrl + v. Additionally, to replace a part of audio with another, copy one segment with ctrl + c, then select another part and press ctrl + v to paste it.
