Pink noise is a sound that contains an assortment of all the audible frequencies, with more power in the lower frequencies. Pink noise contains the same overall intensity throughout each octave but the volume of individual pitches decreases slowly with each higher octave. Because of the way our ears work, humans perceive pink noise as having as being pleasant sounding. Examples of Pink noise from nature are waterfalls, wind, rivers, rain, and or ocean waves. Now that we have a working definition of what pink noise actually is, we can start talking about how I created this video! I started with my frequency generator, and created a pure pink noise tone signal. I then "cleaned" it up with a 30 channel EQ, to what my ear found to be more pleasant. I then dropped the overall treble by 10 decibels. Once this was accomplished, I copied the track and placed it above itself. Effectively "doubling" the pink noise track as a mirror. On the second track I then added in some endless tunnel reverb, and added a desser to both tracks for a smoother mid range. I then rendered both tracks into one super pink noise track. From there I added in one of my favorite metal fan noise videos of a vintage fan from the 1950's. Naturally I doctored up this audio track as well. I kept the overall sound profile lower, so the pink noise would be the lead in this sound duo. I found this hybrid pink noise fan noise to be the best of both worlds combined into one sleep sounds video! I hope you all enjoy it. Welcome to the channel!
