Add all ingredients to the blender and pulse it until a smooth powder is formed. 2. Sieve the blended powder and Homemade Custard Powder is ready. 3. This can be saved in an airtight container for up to 6 months on a shelf. No need to refrigerate. Ingredients for Fruit Custard: • Milk – 4 Cups (1 Liter) • Sugar – ½ Cup • Custard Powder – ½ Cup • Choice of your Fresh Fruits, Dry Fruits, Nuts etc. – I have used Pomegranate Seeds, Grapes, Mango, Banana, Apples, Cherries, Cashews and Almonds. • Mixed Fruit Essence – ¼ tsp Steps: 1. Take 1 cup of milk and add custard powder to it. Mix it until no lumps are present and custard powder is mixed well into the milk. 2. Place a heavy bottomed pan on medium-high heat, add the rest of 3 cups of milk to it and bring it to a boil. 3. Once milk starts to boil, add the milk and custard powder slurry to it and mix it well. 4. After a few minutes of cooking on medium heat, the milk will thicken and resemble a sauce. At this point turn the heat off and allow the milk mixture to cool down for a few minutes. 5. Transfer it to the refrigerator and allow it chill for at least 2 to 3 hours. 6. Custard will thicken up further once it cools down completely in the fridge. 7. Prepare your fruits by washing and cutting them into small pieces just before assembling everything together. This would avoid fruits getting oxidized and changing color. 8. Add ¼ tsp of mixed fruit essence to chilled custard and mix it in. This enhances the custard flavor and makes this dessert even more flavorful. 9. Pour a ladle full of custard into a glass or serving bowls, then add a layer of all fresh fruits. 10. Pour another ladle full of custard, then add dry fruits followed by fresh fruits. 11. Repeat this until you have enough custard poured into glasses or serving bowls. 12. Now let this chill again for another hour like this and the custard tastes even better once all fruits are also chilled. ENJOY!
