In light of this, some students wonder why the video shows the horizontal lines as the height of the prism. It's important to note, however, that if you flip the prism so that it is standing with its base shape facing the floor, then that same horizontal line that our video claimed to be the height would indeed be the vertical height. Thus, the height can be seen as the side-length from one base area to another. (2) In a rectangular prism, any two opposite sides can be seen as the base areas. Just choose a set of them and work out the rest of the question that you might be in the middle of solving!
